Blog from Elect Lady Patricia Baker

As I sit at my computer early on a Monday morning, I’m acutely aware of the time and season we are living in.  The world where we occupy space seems more calous, cruel, self-absorbed, and self-serving.  There seems to be no limits or constraints to what people will say or do.  Sometimes you might hear someone say the world is my oyster, and all I have to do is open it and get the “pearl.”

The world that we reside in today reminds me of the scripture found in Matthew 24:37-38 which tells us “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.  For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark.”

Yes today people are marrying, divorcing, marrying, divorcing, indulging in whatever carnal desires that appeals to them at times with no regard for anyone other than themselves.  The scripture tells us to “love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.”  If anyone loves the world, the love for the Father is not in him.  “For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh (craving for sensual gratification), and the lust of the eyes (greedy longings of the mind), and the pride of life (assurance in one’s own resources or in the stability of earthly things)—these do not come from the Father, but are from the world (ITSELF).”  In the day of Noah God promised that it was going to rain, and for Noah to warn the people to come into the ark for safety.  Only Noah’s family were saved because no one else believed.

The people ignored Noah; God’s representative (mouth piece), just as they ignore the Men and Women of God today.  Noah’s warning went unheeded, and souls were lost.  Today the warnings are going unheeded, and souls are dying daily because of unrepentant hearts.  One day the world will pass away and disappear, and with it the forbidden cravings, or passionate desires and lust of it; but he who does the will of God and carries out His purposes, in his life abides/remains forever.  James 1:14-16 says, “But every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed and baited by his own evil desire (lust passions).  “Then the evil desire, when it is conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully matured, brings forth death.  Do not be deceived my brethren.”

Please know there is hope for all of us.  God does not want anyone to perish, but He desires all to come to repentance.  We each have a hope of seeing Jesus, if we receive Him unto ourselves.  Don’t waste precious time in satan’s grasp, but redeem the time and walk in the Lords footsteps, and bask in His love.
