Knowing we have victory is such a comfort as children of God.  Colossians 3:4, tells us, “When Christ, who is our life, SHALL appear, then shall you also appear with him in glory.

Such an awesome ending is the promise to the Child of God, to the man woman boy or girl who will believe, and receive the gift of eternal life.  “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (1st Peter 1:3).  I thank God for the hope we have in Him.  I’m reminded in the Word of God which tells us that,” We are saved by hope; but hope that is seen is not hope; for what a man sees why does he yet hope for?”  But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”

This is not a hope that is in question!  There is nothing doubtful about this word HOPE.    It is an assured anticipation.  There is no doubt that it will happen…the only thing in question is when.  When will the Lord appear in the clouds?  When will the dead in Christ rise first, and those that are alive and remain be CAUGHT UP to meet the Lord in the Clouds?”(1st Thes. 4:16-17)  To know God, and have a relationship with him is based on the love he has bestowed upon us who he’s called the “Sons of God.”  The world knows us not, because they knew Him not. But now beloved we are the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (1st John 3:1-2) “And every man that has this hope, purifies himself, even as he is pure.”

We must set our affections on thing above (Col 3:2).  The word means an affection of the mind, a passionate desire.  We must passionately desire heaven, and the God that can give it to us!  We must passionately desire to overcome sin, and confess it and overcome it.  We must passionately desire to all the Lord God would want us to be, and accomplish that in our lives.  We must passionately desire seeing souls saved, and God will use us you to win the lost to him.

What we desire of the Lord, that is what we will seek after.  Too many too often live our Christian walk haphazardly, half-heartedly.  We desire all the blessings from our Savior, but we don’t to pay the price.  We have good intentions, yet too often we are unfaithful or even show signs of apathy.  He blesses a life of faith and hope, He even blesses the failures of those who are trying and truly love Him.

Always, the right beginning with God is the truthful confession of sin and failure.  God truly loves a repentant heart, and a contrite spirit He will in no wise cast out.   We must answer the CALL! OBEY GOD’S WORD, and TRUST that He that has begun a good work in us will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
